Glanmire RIS – Contract 03 Bridges

Sorensen recently completed the successful installation of two steel bridges as part of the Glanmire Road Improvement Scheme – Contract 03.

These structures form a key part of the new greenway through John O’Callaghan Park, providing vital crossings over both the Glashaboy and Butlerstown Rivers and enhancing connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists.

🏗️ Structure 01 – Installed on 19 May, this bridge spans 18.25m over the Glashaboy River and weighs 19 tonnes.

🏗️ Structure 02 – Installed on 2 June, this bridge spans 26.8m over the Butlerstown River and weighs 30 tonnes.

Delivered in collaboration with #ThompsonsofCarlow, this installation represents an important milestone on this projects, that is being delivered on behalf of our valued client, #CorkCityCouncil.

A special note of appreciation to the Sorensen site team for their professionalism, planning, and teamwork in safely delivering these complex bridge installations.

We look forward to seeing these structures become an integral part of the new greenway network, creating safer and more accessible routes for the local community.
