We are delighted to announce we have reached the substantial completion milestone on the Glashaboy Flood Relief Scheme in Glanmire, Cork.

Delivered on behalf of Cork City Council – Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí, with funding from the Office of Public Works, this significant project has delivered much-needed flood protection and infrastructure improvements throughout the Glashaboy River catchment.

Over the course of the project, our team delivered a range of challenging works, including:
🔹 New flood defence walls and embankments
🔹 Channel widening and deepening works
🔹 Replacement and improvement of culverts and bridges
🔹 New flood relief pumping stations
🔹 Flood overflow infrastructure
🔹 New footpaths, road surfacing, and public lighting
🔹 Improvements to the surrounding road network and public realm

A huge well done to the Sorensen team who worked tirelessly throughout the project to deliver these complex works safely, efficiently and to the highest standards in quality. From challenging construction conditions to working within a busy urban centre, the team consistently demonstrated professionalism, commitment, and a strong focus on finding solutions.
