Opening of Smooth Point Pier Extension
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue T.D. officially opened the Smooth Point Pier Extension at Killybegs Fishery Harbour Centre on 20th September.
The project involved the completion of a new 120m long quay development at Smooth Point, aiming to alleviate congestion during the peak fishing season. The works also included dredging in excess of 10,000 cubic metres of rock from the bed of the harbour.
Well done to the Sorensen site team for co-ordinating the works safely in a very restricted and challenging environment. Thank you to the Employer’s Representative and Designer, Doran Consulting Engineers for their collaboration with Sorensen on this project.
