Park Road Active Travel Scheme Opening

Sorensen was delighted to mark the official opening of the Park Road Active Travel Scheme in Killarney, delivered on behalf of our client, Kerry County Council

Officially opened by Darragh O’Brien TD, alongside Minister Norma Foley, the Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Mikey Sheehy, and the Mayor of Killarney Municipal District, Cllr John O’Donoghue, the scheme represents a significant investment in Killarney’s active travel infrastructure.

The completed works included new signalised crossing points, upgraded pedestrian crossings, shared surfaces, cycleways, kerbing, signage, road markings, drainage, utilities, retaining wall structures and associated ancillary works. Funded by the National Transport Authority, the scheme enhances safety, accessibility, and connectivity, encouraging more sustainable travel for residents and visitors alike.

We are proud to have delivered this project in collaboration with Kerry County Council, Clandillon Civil Consulting Ltd. and all project stakeholders, helping to create a safer, more connected, and sustainable future for Killarney.
